Brief History
Sweet Lemon Ltd, established 2006, is a privately owned New Zealand manufacturer of premium quality organic products based in Meremere, South Auckland.
The Nit-Enz product range is the first brand to be launched by Sweet Lemon Ltd and it consists of a Certified Organic Shampoo, a Head Lice Repellent Hair Spray and Hair Gel.
Nit-Enz Certified Organic Shampoo has Agriquality Organic Certification which means even the forest the raw materials come from is completely free of synthetic chemicals. In 1999 the Shampoo was invented and developed by Rodney Innes who also invented the World's First Certified Organic Weed Killer - Organic Interceptor. Interceptor is another pine based product that was created when Rodney asked himself "I wonder why nothing grows under pine trees?"
Pine extracts have long been known for their antiseptic and antifungal properties as well as a medicinal remedy for bronchitis, colds, coughs, muscle aches, acne and cellulite.
Medical historians have traced head lice infestations back 9,000 years and the problem is not likely to disappear any time soon with 95% of Australian children affected per annum!
Once a child picks up head lice they are highly likely to continue picking them up again and again as the original source of infestation may not get treated. This means time, money and frustration for busy parents! Re-infestation occurs on contact and is prevalent amongst school age children as head lice can survive for up to 48 hours off a human host.
